Wonderful Wednesday

Wednesday began a little late as students slowly entered the meeting. On inquiring, they expressed that it is difficult for them to wake up early during Winters. It is completely understandable, however, the teacher requested them to manage their time and sleep on time to be able to wake up a little earlier than today. We started the day by reflecting on our previous day's learning by going through the class blog.
Then, we continued with the learning engagements where we stopped in Maths yesterday. Students compared the different amounts of money. This was a recap of comparing and ordering numbers.
They also identified the different ways to represent the same amount of money while comparing numbers.
During our last lesson, we looked at a presentation celebrating the festival of Dussera. It also included details about when was it started? and what's the history behind this festival. Students were engrossed during the presentation and also asked questions. They were then guided to make connections by selecting/ choosing their favourite festival to inquire about it.
We had two lessons of Maths learning today. In the second lesson, students went for virtual shopping and calculated money.
Some practice tasks will be assigned to students on Seesaw for them to retain the concept. Students enjoyed shopping and were suggested to pretend and play with family and friends during the weekend by setting up a shop and exchanging play/fake money with toys and objects. This will provide them with hands-on experience in dealing with money. If students have Monopoly, Business, Picnic, or any other board games that involve money, it is strongly recommended that students play with them.
