Isn't it incredible??? We successfully completed Grade 1 with our beloved students. The last week was filled with mixed emotions. We had fun while practising for the Student-led Conferences, hosting one for the parents, the final assembly for the leavers- teachers and students, and appreciating the staff and student council members.
During the conference, the students led them by sharing their individual portfolios with the parents. They also took them through their current learning in the classroom, celebrating their own learning along with their peers. Some of the students took pride in sharing how their friends contributed to their learning.
The happy faces of the learning community filled the environment with vibrancy and positivity.
Solo Taxonomy was often used in our classroom with hand symbols.
During the final assembly, the support staff from different departments and the student council members were felicitated with appreciation certificates. We also bid farewell to the leavers by singing a couple of songs and giving them cards and gifts.
Our last guided reading session with the specialists was in the library on Thursday morning.
Students had a 'Creativity Scavenger Hunt' as their last learning engagement, where they had to collect a few things from their environment and come up with something creative.
Students worked in groups to build something new, creative, and interesting with the different collected objects around them. They had the opportunity to present their projects towards the end and assess themselves with the criteria discussed.
Most of the students came up with interesting games and were proud to share the same with logic and practicality.
On Friday, the last day of the school arrived where it was all fun and laughter with students enjoying to the fullest. Playing, watching a movie in the lecture theatre, and eating the food at the end of the day was so much fun.
It was a year filled with joy, fun, and excitement.
