Tempean Tuesday

The focus for today's morning meeting was reflecting on our experiences of the in-school experience students had yesterday. It was inevitable that they were all excited to express their happiness through their responses. We made a word cloud on the whiteboard to record student's feelings.

In the Maths lesson, we continue to identify and describe the value of coins and notes through games and picture prompts. Students were guided to try out different ways to show the same amounts given in the games or pictures. They are also learning about exchange of money alongside this concept.
During the check-in session, a group of students were provided with the link to the game to explore on their own.
The students tried different ways and used varied coins to display the amount of money. They illustrated and wrote the same in their notebooks.
We used the 'Animal Freeze Dance' for our energizer today.
For our UOI session, students focussed on identifying the different ways of how people’s cultures are similar to and different from their own. We discussed this from a presentation on 'Winter Festivals' that was created by a team of students and teachers from the Junior School.
Winter Festivals that we have recently celebrated such as Diwali, Dussera, and Halloween were a part of the discussion. The presentation also had festivals that are celebrated around the world and were new to us which included 'Snow Festival' in Japan and harvest festivals that are celebrated with different names in different states of India.
Students were also asked about their favourite festivals and were guided to find out the meaning of 'culture'. Through this learning engagement, students also learned more about our AK Strand- Culture.
Students can inquire and research more about their favourite festival. They will be guided further in the upcoming lessons.
