Our morning meeting was led by Rajeev today. He shared his screen to play the song and everyone danced on it. Thereafter, our student council member Swara asked her friends for suggestions for Christmas and H. H's birthday assembly.
Students collected cutlery and/or colours. They were guided to count them all together. Then, they sorted them into the categories of their choice. The students were asked which way was easier to count and were guided to make a note of these in their Maths notebooks. We also discussed that this is one of the ways to collect data.
Students are also recording the temperature of the city of Hyderabad every day to collect the data. This will be sorted during one of the lessons next week.
Next, we played the 'Guess the verb' game. This helped the students to understand the concept of verbs. They identified that action words are called 'Verbs'. They enjoyed guessing and playing this game.
Students listened to the book called 'I am a verb'. It was hilarious and informational at the same time. They could point out the verbs from the book and mentioned the examples in the following lesson.
Freeze dance was our energizer for the day.
During the check-in, students learned how to organize the data. They were introduced to a 'pictogram'. We will be using pictograms next week to organize the data of the weather patterns that students have been recording.
We discussed the vocabulary related to data handling and looked at a few examples.
Some of the students have requested for the link to the book that we used for verbs. Here is the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ssh2CsEVwck. This can be used as your weekend reading. Have a great weekend ahead! :)
