Wednesday began with a surprise for all the students. They could identify that today's lessons were held from the classrooms of the Aga Khan Academy. One of the students volunteered to lead the yoga session for his peers today. All the students followed him and performed different yoga poses. Then we continued with our Maths session on 'Counting Money'.
Students solved the picture problems by drawing the coins and notes in their books. They also annotated to match the pictures of the different denominations. The students also made connections with the denominations that are used in India to count money/coins.
After the first lesson, students danced to the 'Floor is Lava' song.
Students watched a story based on using money in their real lives. With the help of https://mathsbot.com/manipulatives/coins students solved all the problems mentioned in the story. They answered the questions in different ways with varied coins while the video was paused and made a note of it in their books.
We started the third session with the 'Gummy Bear' song.
The students chose to share a variety of timelines of their pets, house, siblings, parents, and the timeline of school was displayed as an example. The concept of change was addressed clearly through this learning engagement. The students drew the timelines in their books and are encouraged to use an ICT tool to create their timelines online.
Students were excited to show/ display their timelines. They worked in groups to encourage and help each other in creating their timelines.
