Friday began with beautiful smiling faces. :) Swara, our student council member discussed winter festivals with her peers during the morning meeting. She asked what are different festivals do we celebrate during the winter season and how do we celebrate them? Interesting and varied responses were provided by the students which clearly displays the wide cultural perspective in the class. Also, the fact that we are diverse in our own ways yet pluralistic.
In Maths, the concept of addition with renaming was practised this morning to enhance students' understanding. We worked in groups- one of the groups used number cards and the others used blocks to express their understanding. They were guided to make a note of all the problems in their notebooks.
Go bananas song was used for the energizer in between the meetings today. Students love dancing and singing and we enjoy these special moments with them.
During the student-led session, students came up with surprises for us. We went on a virtual field trip to a National Park based in Rajasthan hosted by Swara. It was fascinating to see animals and birds so close to human beings and how beautiful nature is.
A house made out of clay, this colourful house was created by Rajeev and he confidently explained the parts of the house that he had colour coded. It looks so pretty, isn't it?
Evana showed us a trick with a 2x2 Rubik's cube that she could solve in less than a minute.
Reyansh demonstrated some animal Yoga poses like Crab pose, Cobra pose, and Cat pose. He volunteered to do a session with the whole class on Tuesday during the morning meeting.
It had been an exciting week after the October break. We look forward to more such weeks ahead too!! :)
