Thoughtful Thursday

Today, students explored the concept of the addition of numbers with regrouping. We used picture prompts and base ten blocks to introduce and understand the concept.
Students practised and solved the problems in groups in the breakout rooms using the questions provided by the 'Maths No Problem' books.
In the other group, students created questions using number cards and solved questions with the Lego and blocks.
'Show and Tell' is one of the interesting activities that students love to do. Today, students displayed their chosen artifacts and shared details about them using five Ws and one H. (Who? When? What? Where? Why? and How?).
There was a wide variety of artifacts including a noodle maker and a pot made out of brass material, a pencil that was 60 years old, a fountain pen, a spoon that acted as a key to a tiffin, a fifty-year-old blanket made and gifted by ancestors, ring/jewellery, coins/currency notes, idols of Lord Ganesha and Hanuman, Kondapally Bommallu (antique dolls), a crown, silver utensils, piggy banks, and old toys.

With the help of a Seesaw activity, the students were guided to find out more about their artifacts and share the picture and video explaining the same. It was fascinating to see how these little ones are trying to inquire into their ‘Personal Histories’.

The activity was explained to all the students in detail and their queries were answered. The students are expected to do this assigned activity on Seesaw by the 24th of October.
