Students practised mindfulness during the morning meeting focusing on the body parts.
During the reading sessions, students experienced different activities with different books in groups.
Students redesigned the cover page of their assigned book.
In other groups, students were guided to predict the story and were asked to write what will happen next?
In Maths, students recapitulated the concepts learned so far.
After the break, students participated in a quick energizer.
We started the concept of addition with concrete objects (manipulatives). Now, we move towards the pictorial aspect of the concept. Students were guided to observe and read the picture and think of strategies to solve the problem.
We used the spin wheel to create the number sentences for addition problems.
Counting, bundling, base ten blocks are the different ways through which students solved the number problems of the basic operation of addition.
Students enjoyed learning the concept of addition with the pictorial aspect as well. We are now heading towards the abstract model for addition.
