Marvellous Monday- Week 7

Monday mornings are always enhanced as we receive the enriching message from Dr. Long. He had three messages for all of us today. "Take time out to go for a walk, talk to someone who can lift your spirits, and take time out to breathe". He mentioned that we have all been busy in our lives and are spending most of our time on screen so these three actions will help us in many ways.

A great example of being open-minded to learning a new language was evident during our Hindi Divas Assembly today. Dr. Long, Ms. Susan Long, and many faculty members on campus made an effort to learn few words in Hindi. This was a part of the action taken by the students of PYP.
Many students participated in the Hindi Day Assembly in different forms. Some of them were a part of a dance performance, some were in mono-acting and the others performed roleplays.
Our chief guest for today's assembly was Dr. Ruchi Shree
We reflected on the padlet today where students posted their meal plans to promote healthy habits and behaviors. This is to address the SDG (sustainable development goal) - 'Good health and Well-being'.
For the Art lesson, Ms. Neetu taught all of us to create the idol of Lord Ganesha using clay/ play or wheat dough. This was aligned with our AK Strand- Cultures where the students are celebrating the ongoing festival of Ganesha Chaturthi.
In Maths, we looked into 'Number Bonds' today. We addressed number bonds using the place value of tens and ones in our previous lessons. This morning, the students played scavenger hunt and collected coloured pens and pencils, counted them and grouped them to create number bonds. The students were guided to create different number bonds with the same number that they had. They were also asked to challenge themselves with other numbers.
We will continue to practice number bonds in different ways.
