Marvellous Monday- Week-6

This morning started with pleasant surprises and good wishes from our students of Crew One for 'Teacher's Day'. Some of them made cards, some sang songs, some wished verbally. We also received digital cards and a video through email. Thank you to all students for your kind thoughts and lovely messages. We, teachers, love you all. :)

We recapitulated the concept of the place value of numbers with students. They were also encouraged to practice the concept to retain it. One of the students mentioned that she enjoyed the online game on place value that was shared by the teachers last week.
We watched a video called 'The Reflection in Me' by Marc Colagiovanni, together and reflected on it. Students connected it with kindness and how we can take care of ourselves. One of the students also mentioned that we can also be a friend of ourself. It is amazing to listen to their responses that have deep meanings at such a young stage of their lives. Some students requested that they would like to watch the story again. Please find the link to it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D9OOXCu5XMg
The much-awaited event of a Monday morning is Dr. Long's inspirational and thought-provoking video. His wise messages and excellent metaphors that are connected with our lives are mind-blowing. This week, his message was to look for the beautiful things around us. He explained this through a small pond on campus with a lotus flower in it.
For our reading lesson today, students read aloud their assigned books with follow-up activities in different groups. One of the groups used their imagination skills and created a world of their own. We also discussed sight words and words that are pronounced phonetically.
At 2 pm, we had a Junior School Assembly marking 'Teacher's Day'. Students displayed lovely presentations and performed confidently during the assembly. There was a formal announcement of the student council members after the celebration.
Please note that we have also shared the address of the blog with our students on the chat window towards the end of the homeroom session today.
