On Thursday, after the guided reading session, students and Ms. Anjum were engaged in expressing themselves when Ms. Neetu took us through the doodling session. They used lines and curves to doodle and created different shapes and structures. They also expressed their feeling while they doodled. :)
During the literature study time, students were read aloud one of Eric Carle's famous titles- 'The Very Busy Spider'. Students loved the book and enjoyed making stick puppets by illustrating the characters on paper and sticking them on Popsicle sticks. Thereafter, they enacted a roleplay using the puppets and characters they created.
In the Maths lessons, we have introduced the concept of division and are practising the concept through different manipulatives and resources. We have used the strategies of grouping and sharing and students were guided to draw pictures and create numbers sentences for division.
Students used their favourite toy- Poppits to understand the concept of division of numbers. They divided the total number of Pops by 2, 3, 5, and 10. Some of them also tried with other numbers.
We also looked at and watched the biography of Eric Carle to understand the author's life and his work as a part of our literature study. Kritin Shourya took an action and researched about his life and created his timeline. He explained Eric Carle's timeline to all his friends in the class.
