'Each one plant one'- students brought egg and coconut shells to plant seeds marking the 'Earth Day/ Week' celebrations. We also observed 'Earth hour' in the morning on Friday when all the electrical appliances were not in use and all students were mostly having their learning engagements outdoors.
We also encouraged students to donate their pre-loved items for the 'Reduced Consumerism' drive. Students donated books, toys, clothes, and many of their pre-loved items and in return, they got to select one thing from what their friends donated.
In Maths, students continue to learn and practise the concept of division. This week, they also learned the inverse relationship between multiplication and division by solving picture and story problems.
For language lessons, we have been focusing on the author study and have introduced the literature circle activities or roles to the students. The different roles are connectors, illustrators, word finders, predictors, and readers. Students read different books by Eric Carle and wore the caps for these roles.

On Thursday, students were in different groups for the guided reading session with homeroom teachers and specialists. There is also a listening centre where the students get to listen to audio books.
As a part of our collaboration, students from Grade 5 and 4 also visited our classroom this week.
Students have been assigned a task on Seesaw related to their author study. It is a simple activity of listening and speaking with a choice board for them to choose their favourite book. They are expected to complete the task by the 30th of April. It was a fun-filled learning week. :)
