Students have been engaged in learning to make patterns with different shapes and colors. They also learned about moving shapes with directions such as up, down, right, and left. These learning engagements were designed in centers so all students worked in groups.
Students applied their understanding of patterns and shapes by finding the missing patterns and creating them using manipulatives.
For the unit of inquiry, students watched a video about a question raised- 'Where does all the trash go?' They watched the landfills in Delhi and the Great Pacific Garbage Patch to reflect on how trash destroys our environment. They were further asked to brainstorm and come up with solutions to these problems.
Trash in the oceans
They will further reflect on the Sustainable Development Goal- 'Responsible Production and Consumption'.
The Fun Zone aka student-led session was super hit today. Many of the students were prepared and participated actively. Ms. Shabana facilitated the students to lead the session. It is a great learning experience for all of us.
Presentations of inquiry, singing, science experiments, book sharing, art, and drawing were all a part of the session this morning.
Dr. Long visited our classroom today. Students were thrilled to see him and share what they presented during their student-led session. It was a marvelous moment! :)
Students have been working on inquiring about their passion/ personal projects. They identified their passions and came up with some questions related to the same. They also had to brainstorm about how will they find more information about their passions.
One of the students explained and presented his passion. They also went to the ICT lab today to find out more about their passions using their research skills with the help of the internet. The other resources they are encouraged to use are books and human resources.
