Students are learning to read and tell the time. To introduce the concept of time, we looked at the types of clocks- digital and analogue.
To understand the prior knowledge of students, they were allowed to annotate on the screen and draw the hands with the time on analogue clocks.
We also watched and listened to a book called 'It's About Time!'
Students will become weather news reporters to explain and present their understanding of temperature and weather data collected earlier. An exemplar was shared with them through a video. This task is assigned to them on Seesaw.
For our reading and writing sessions this week, we read books on Kids A to Z and looked into synonyms and word choice as our focus.
We continued with reading the time to minutes and hours. Students learned to read the time to quarter past, half past, and quarter to the hour.
We also listened to a song on 'Telling the time'.
There was a small surprise for all the students in the last few minutes of the lessons today. We had a little Santa Claus in our class.
He was with us to wish us all 'Merry Christmas'. :)
