Terrific Tuesday

The first thing we did this morning was to watch Dr. Long's video. The much-awaited thing that we do on Mondays usually happened today due to some technical difficulties that we faced in school yesterday.
It was surprising to listen to him talking about the thing we are doing already. Yes, he took the example of a bucket and filled it with good thoughts and deeds. He called it the 'self-esteem' bucket which was also our 'Word of the day'. Students were guided to write the word in their books and find the meaning of the word to share it with us tomorrow.
Students watched a video about day and night and the activities that happen during that time. We discussed the activities through a visible thinking routine- Venn Diagram.
Students contributed to the Venn Diagram with the activities they watched in the video and the activities they usually perform during the day and at night. We also discussed the activities that can be done both during the day and at night. Students were also given a choice of drawing columns if they were not comfortable with the Venn Diagram.
In Maths, we reflected on our learning of subtraction concepts that we did last week. In continuation, students were guided to pick two cards to create number sentences based on subtraction. Some students tried one-digit and the others tried two-digit number sentences for subtracting the numbers.
During the check-in at 2 pm, we had Junior School Assembly marking the 'Children's Day'. Please find some glimpses below:
Teachers prepared some performances for the students and some of the talents of students from all grade levels were displayed during the assembly. It was a 'Terrific Tuesday'.
