Students developed self-awareness through a mindfulness activity of 'Thought Bubbles' this morning.
Reading in groups was done in lesson 1, where students read different books followed by a variety of activities. Ms. Elizabeth asked her students to read aloud their favourite books.
The Festival of Lights was read by one of the groups. Students were guided to research more about Hanukkah and draw the Menorah with some details they learned about the festival from the book.
One of the students initiated a story problem during our Maths lesson today. All of us got into it and solved the problem. The other student was inspired and created one more story problem that was illustrated/annotated and solved by all. This activity evidently displayed the understanding of the concept of money that we have been learning in classes. Application of their learning is the goal for all our learning engagements.
Five Little Monkeys song was played for the energizer in between the lessons today. Students demand different songs every day.
We continued to practise problems related to the concept of money in Maths through picture problems. Ravi the character in the picture was invited as a new friend in the class and we visualized that we are going for shopping.
Students were asked to write and solve these problems in their Maths notebook. There is some guided practice also assigned on our Maths Journal on the 'Seesaw Blog'.
