Students looked at their temperature/ weather chart and observed the days that are sunny, cloudy, foggy, haze, and rainy. They sorted the data by organizing and representing it using pictograph and tally marks.
We also watched video related to Tally marks from 'Scratch Garden'.
To understand the concept of change, we conducted two experiments. The first one was with ice and water- the concept of melting and freezing which is a reversible change. The second one was the burning of paper which is an irreversible change. Students also shared a couple of more examples for the mentioned changes.
During the check-in, we explained the 'Inquiry choice board' to the students. These activities are assigned for them to choose and respond to over 11 days. They may choose to do any one task every day and add their responses on Flipgrid.
Few of them already chose and started doing the activity. It was engaging to see them engrossed during the experiments today!
