Hump of the week-2!!!!

Our Wednesday began with a mindfulness session by GoNoodle called 'melting'. Students are excited and look forward to discussing the morning messages. When the students volunteer to read the messages, it not only builds their communication skills but also leadership qualities. Through this, we are addressing a lot of important aspects of their learning.
After the morning meeting, students reflected on their learnings of the previous day. Thereafter, they listened to a book called 'Whoever you are' by Mem Fox. We had a follow-up discussion about the book. Then, with teacher guidance, students came up with some questions that they would like to ask their buddies to know about them. The students were then paired and were allocated to different breakout rooms. It was surprising to come across interesting discussions happening in each of the breakout rooms. The peer discussion helped them to identify the similarities and differences amongst each other. This book has addressed the concept of the AK Strand- 'Pluralism'.
The students shared about their peers with the whole group. They were excited to know about each other.
On Thursday, the students were guided to think out of the box by applying their creative and critical thinking skills. Students came up with beautiful illustrations. Some of them also coloured their drawings. It is truly amazing to witness their enthusiasm.
For Maths, we have started using Base 10 blocks virtually to read and write numbers. Initially, with counting, students could recognize numbers. With these manipulatives, students will practise modelling numbers. They will then read and write numbers.
Students watched a video about 'Goals setting'. The teachers asked questions along with quoting some examples of the meaning of goals and goal setting. Students were asked to share if they knew the meaning of goals and if they can think of any goals for themselves. A few students could express themselves.
Students were given the time to think about their goals and let us know by Friday. The teachers will guide the students in setting their goals in case they need our support. Looking forward to having interesting conversations with our students about their goals.
