Monday is a fun day. Have you heard this before?? We had a lot of fun discussing about our senses and it's functions using the sketch that was created by the students in the previous week. The teachers also played a game called 'What's in the bag?' with the students for them to connect it with the sense organs. We also watched a book called 'Our Five Senses' on Kids A to Z that helped us with examples of the experiences we encounter while using the five senses.
Students expressed their understanding of the functions of the five senses identified by them.
Students were guided to go around the house and use their senses to observe and experience their surroundings. When they were back, we divided ourselves in two groups to discuss their observations and feelings. Their responses were noted and they were introduced to the 'Sensory Word Wall'. This will be an on-going project where students will keep adding the words they observe, experience, and feel. They may use a big chart paper to add many such words for future learning. This will enhance their vocabulary and literacy skills.
We had reading sessions in groups with Ms. Susan and Ms. Faridah around. Students had an opportunity to read aloud in different groups and had a follow-up activity post reading.
As a ritual, we watch Dr. Long's video every Monday and reflect on the message.
We began the Tuesday morning with the morning message, thereafter we had our Library lesson.
We had our Maths lesson after that. Students were introduced to bundling to learn the concept of
counting by tens. Students learned forward and backward counting by tens.

Students watched a story with the help of a book called 'A friend is someone who..' and were introduced to making a story board. The teachers guided to create only three scenes from the story today and try to describe it in their words. We will continue this in our next session.
The example of the story board is displayed here. :)
