The first day of the new school year always has its own charm. The smiling and excited faces of our students said it all. We began our day with the whole school assembly where all the students from the Academy were gathered to meet each other virtually. The address by Dr. Long had a powerful message for all of us to reflect on and follow in our lives.
In our second session, we finally got to meet our students virtually. The much-awaited time we were all looking forward to. Students were happy to meet us and so were the teachers. We introduced ourselves using an interactive spin wheel where the students confidently expressed themselves.
After the break, students had their PE lesson where they got to meet their PE and Yoga faculties.
While introducing themselves, many students mentioned that they loved to draw. Keeping in view student agency, an important aspect of learning at the Academy, we provided them with an opportunity and guided them to illustrate anything of their choice to welcome each other. It was amazing to observe their creativity and imagination. Some of them created cards, some created posters, and the others presented crafts. It was interesting to see them welcoming each other in a variety of ways.
Students thoroughly enjoyed grooving on the 'Freeze Dance'.
It was a fun-filled day for all of us. We look forward to witnessing the same enthusiasm every day. :)
